Black pipes are accurately sized strips, cut from high quality hot rolled mild steel coils that are then fed into the tube mill. The flat strip is gradually formed into a round profile with an open seam along its length. A high frequency induction welding technique is used to form a strong continuous seam joint
The formed pipe passes through an external bead scarfing and sizing process to bring its dimensions to specified tolerances. The pipes are then cut to the desired lengths.
All water pipes are manufactures as per Kenyan Standards: 06 - 259 and British Standards 1387.
Black pipes are generally used for the supply of water (ie: plumbing, firefighting, HVAC). They can also be used in other industrial and engineering applications.
